About me

My name is Katarzyna Bieniasz, and I come from Rzeszów, Poland. I graduated from the Lviv National Academy of Arts, Faculty of Conservation of Works of Art. I also completed postgraduate studies in Conservation, Architectural Design, and Interior Arrangement of Sacred Buildings at the Cracow University of Technology. I obtained my Master’s degree from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Rzeszów.

Currently, I specialize in the art of icon painting. My experience copying icons from the 15th–17th centuries from the collections of the Lviv National Museum marked the beginning of my search for a personal artistic path. Since then, I have continued to expand my knowledge of traditional techniques and study the sources of iconography. By copying historical icons, I deepen my understanding of composition and drawing, while also creating my own contemporary interpretations of motifs from Western sacred art using the egg tempera technique.

Since 2015, I have been involved in educational activities through workshops, lectures, and private lessons. I also organize thematic workshops and meetings for different age groups, which allows me to rediscover icon painting from the perspective of a teacher.
